REVOICE (2022) is a performance on a barrel organ. The organ plays sound recordings from a solidarity protest in Amsterdam against the looming threat of the U.S. American supreme court overturning the national right to abortion. One month after the protest, on the 24th of June 2022, the supreme court declared the right to safe abortion no longer to exist. It painfully reminds us of how constitutional human rights can be taken away from us while we might expect them to be set in stone. During the performance, donations were collected for Abortion Network Amsterdam, a support group, based in the Netherlands, for pregnant people who do not have access to safe abortions.
